"The Life of Fly" by Magnus Muhr was published on October 4th, 2010 as a collection of simple, yet humorous portraits of dead flies participating in everyday human activities. Muhr began drawing the fly portraits several years prior when he found a dead fly at a party which gave him an idea. Muhr's fly drawings first started circulating the internet in 2009 and have since then gained attention worldwide. Since initial publication, "The Life of Fly" has been published in over six countries. Numerous newspapers, magazines, articles, internet blogs, and even a few art books have highlighted his art. In addition to Muhr's home country of Sweden, the fly portraits have been displayed in galleries in England, Germany, and other countries as well. In 2011 "Flychlothes", a small clothing line, was printed and sold in the FLY LONDON shop in England featuring some of Muhr's drawings. Muhr has also been asked in the past to create advertisements using the same style of art as used in his dead fly portraits. Sometimes Muhr uses different insects in his drawings such as moths, ants, and mosquitoes, but the majority of his work uses the common housefly.
